Abstract

The rationale underlying restoration efforts in northeastern Illinois woodlands has overemphasized fire suppression and virtually ignored the long-enduring effects of post-settlement logging and grazing, the damage from which may well be exacerbared by the current management regime of continued abiotic disturbance.
