Abstract

Course syllabus for MGMT 320 Personnel Management I

Course description: This is a lecture discussion course with liberal use of group problem solving. It is designed for first line supervisors as well as for students interested in becoming personnel specialists. The impact of persons on the organization and the organization's impact on employees is introduced. The process approach is emphasized starting from human resource planning through basic job design, recruitment, selection and career development. The course concludes with an introduction to the complex world of compensation and benefits and overall development of human resources against a changing and risk-filled industrial and business environment.
