For our project, we are tasked with creating a website or service in which people can seek for funding for a person, project, and or a cause. The reason this project is important is because it offers a service that doesn’t make GoFundMe a monopoly of a crowdfunding site. In 2021, there are only so many crowdfunding sites and most seemingly directed towards the arts, we would like to make a site that matches with the times of COVID-19, and needing funds for hospital bills, unemployment, and even for research that goes towards studying and finding a cure with no side effects. This idea of an online based fund raiser written in Java will be used to enhance the existing options for crowdfunding and hopefully will help those in need with high hopes for donations.
The technology used to provide this service and site will be constructed in Visual studio using a .net application. Underneath the project, we will be using different controllers for user roles. In our project, there are three roles that will be able to participate in the fundraiser project by use of login from a home page/view: a user that starts a campaign, donors that will have access to the pages, and an admin to manage users. Our pages are views within the project, and those consist of a home page with a log in feature, and then once logged in users, depending on their role, will have access to campaigns, donations, and or managing users and campaigns. We are anticipating releasing this site by end of spring of 2021.
