Abstract
Course syllabus for MCOM 540 Film Seminar: The Silents
Course description: Surveys the development of the silent film from a novelty into an art form during the years 1915- 1927. The early developers' loss of control to the studio system, the rise of the star system and the transition to talking pictures are all covered.
