Abstract
Course syllabus for SOCW 459 Law and Social Work
Course description: Social workers are employed in settings where they must work with the legal system. This course examines the legal system in the context of income maintenance, justice, child protection, family services, divorce counseling, and other areas requiring knowledge of legal issues. In addition, legal research is explored and practiced. The course also addresses issues related to the legal system and diverse and at-risk populations, as well as social and economic justice.
