This community features conferences, workshops, salons, and other programs associated with faculty research, teaching, and service at Governors State University.
The Faculty Professional Development Day is a collaborative event presented by the Office of the Provost, the Faculty Professional Development Committee (FPDC), and the Center for Active Engagement and Scholarship (CAES) is a virtual series that began in 2021.
In 2015, nine faculty members from the College of Health and Human Services and the College of Education discussed the importance of interprofessional communication in health and human services at the Impact of Environments on Children with Disabilities presentation.
In 2024, an AI Summit will be hosted by the FPDC. The event will bring together faculty, technologists, and researchers to explore the integration of AI in K-12 and higher-education classrooms, AI’s potential to personalize learning experiences, and the ethical considerations surrounding its use. The purpose of the event is to foster a collaborative environment for exchanging ideas, addressing challenges, and envisioning the future of AI in education.
