Abstract
The purpose of developing this applied project is to create a training program that will teach newly hired law enforcement officers to better communicate with the public they are servicing by enhancing communication skills such as listening and observing body language; particularly during the initial contact period. It will also demonstrate the importance of communication within the criminal justice system for fostering trust between the community and law enforcement officials, as well as improving the safety of law enforcement officials.
