Joining a faculty writing group can help you develop a more sustainable, productive, and satisfying academic writing practice. This panel will provide a brief overview of three different types of faculty writing groups: (1) a process-oriented group, (2) a “show-up-and-write” group, and (3) a research discussion group. Members of the panel will share our experience leading these three types of writing groups in the Governors State University College of Arts and Sciences. We’ll discuss the value of each type of group and offer suggestions for how you might start a faculty writing group with like-minded colleagues in your academic college or division.
