The title story is a narrative featuring, Johanna, a matronly woman of middle age who has worked as a housekeeper and a caregiver. Due to a very mean-spirited teenage action, Johanna thinks that a man is in love with her for the first time in her life.

Afterwards Christopher White, Professor of English and Daniel Nearing, Professor of Independent Film and Digital Imaging, speak to the relationship of the film to the short story and about Alice Munro and her Nobel Prize-winning body of work.
