Harry Rhodes is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Growing Home, Chicago's leading organic agriculture social enterprise focused on empowering people and communities. Growing Home's USDA certified organic farms serve as the foundation for the organization's three goals: to provide job training and placement for hard to employ individuals; to create better food access in Chicago; and to advocate for healthy and sustainable food systems locally and nationally.
Mr. Rhodes is one of the founders of Advocates for Urban Agriculture (AUA) and is currently Co-Chair of the organization's Steering Committee. Mr. Rhodes has served as a Director on the Illinois Local Food, Farms and Jobs Council since 2012. Mr Rhodes received the Chicago Community Trust Experienced Leader Fellowship in 2013.
Mr. Rhodes has a master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Wisconsin, and has been working as an Executive Director in the non-profit sector since 1987. He managed several leading Jewish-Arab Coexistence organizations in Israel from 1987-2001, when he moved back to his native Chicago.
