Abstract
Governors State University (GovState) is the only regional comprehensive public university in Chicago’s Southland. Our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) assessments show that we are one of the most diverse and inclusive campuses in the state of Illinois, and home to a richly diverse and talented group of students taught by an equally diverse and exceptional faculty. Founded in 1969, GovState remains true to its mission of “offering an exceptional and accessible education that prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and ability to succeed in a global society.”
“We are GovState,’’ our 2023 Annual Report, highlights not only the mission, but also the numerous and significant contributions made by the many faculty and staff who work tirelessly to provide educational opportunities for our students. They change lives. Each year, thousands of Jaguars sacrifice, persevere, and continue their journey toward academic achievement. They also are at the heart of our Annual Report.
