Abstract

“Experiencing the sculptures of the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park on a moonlit night can reward visitors with a unique perspective,” said Geoffrey Bates, director and curator of the sculpture park which is located on the campus of Governors State University. “The subtle light combined with the gentle crunch of snow makes the whole park unfamiliar and new.”

On January 10, 2009, by the light of the full moon, visitors will be able to tour many of the sculpture parks’ nationally recognized pieces. Bates will lead the tour, providing insight on the works and the artists who created them. The fee for the Full Moon Nighttime Tour is $5 and advanced registration is required.
