Abstract

More than 550 students from south suburban middle and junior high schools will celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 12 at the Governors State University. The celebration is designed to reaffirm Dr. King’s message, goals, and achievements. The program will also include audience participation and special performances.

The keynote speaker is Deborah J. Crable, Director of Marketing and Communications for Kennedy-King College, who will present “We are not makers of history. We are made by history.” Students will also enjoy the music of Al Mack of Low Not Productions and Dave, The Piano Man.
