Abstract

Thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Governors State University will receive a two year, $1.7 million grant from the Department of Health and Human Services to establish an Early Head Start Program at the Family Development Center (FDC).

According to Carol Morrison, Executive Director of the Family Development Center, the grant will enable Governors State University to create 20 new jobs and serve 72 families through Early Head Start, a free, comprehensive program for low-income families.
