Abstract
A bomb threat made today to Governors State University caused school officials to cancel classes and events for the remainder of the day. The threat, which specifically identified the university’s parking lots, was considered “low-level.” Despite that assessment, university officials responded with the utmost caution and with the safety of students and staff in mind.
After a thorough assessment of the parking lots, including the use of bomb-sniffing dogs, university police issued an all-clear for those areas. As an added precaution, police conducted a thorough search of all campus buildings. Police found no indications of an explosive device and an all-clear notice was given for the buildings.
