Abstract
ORCID, the Open Researcher and Contributor ID is a registry of unique identifiers for each scholar, researcher in any field of study in any format. This is especially useful when dealing with Asian names, when name changes occur due to marriage, divorce etc. With this ID research will always be linked to the original name of the author. It is a requirement for NIH grants, Nature and Elsevier. This presentation will walk you through getting an ID and the steps to safeguard your identity in this OPEN system, to trace research/researchers in your field and to prepare citation reports come evaluation time.
