Abstract
Our presentation will be on the epidemic of intercity gangs and the prevalence among young minority males. We will also provide information on a pilot study on gang prevention and reform provided by a youth organization designed at helping youth in Los Angeles abstain from joining city gangs and best practices on exiting gang affiliation. The study discusses reasoning youth join gangs, gang counseling, after effects of gang culture, and gang expansion through intergenerational membership.
