Abstract
Workplace bullying has become a substantial concern within higher education. These behaviors present themselves in undercurrents and in some cases blatant occurrences against individuals without repercussions. The prevalence of bullying behaviors against faculty interferes in a number of ways including: disruptive behaviors, humiliation and demoralization. Additionally, they occur through indirect threats, intimidation, exclusion or isolation silencing their voices and participation in a shared governance environment. This research project examines bullying behaviors in higher education and the negative implications it has on faculty participation in a shared governance.
