Abstract

Social justice and collective bargaining are both issues that have a close relationship therefore, the changing landscape of higher education has led to a dynamic partnership between the two (Julius, 2021). Social justice has been defined previously as “arc of social movements in the U.S” (Julius, 2021, p. 137). Similarly, collective bargaining or negotiations involves legal and legislative parameters that concerns labor management practices that has produced a social movement in a class of employees (Julius, & DiGiovanni, 2019; Julius, 2021). Graduate assistants are categorized as an employment group that is marginalized and vulnerable in the higher education sector, although they play an important role in institutional operations (Fay & Ghadimi, 2020).
