Description of Program

A presentation that is meant to quickly summarize the issue with AI and artist within the workforce. Helping people outside the artist community understand the weight of the ongoing issues with AI in art.

Abstract

Disney has been known to inspire artists from many generations, helping creative minds expand more and have an inspiration to look to. Although, with the rise of AI, many companies like Disney have turned to the cheaper alternative to help them create art for them, instead of paying real artists to do these illustrations for them. AI is taking away the creative human mind from these jobs, and replacing them with machines that just do as they are told. Without human minds, there could be much lost, and make humans more reliant on AI. Having AI take over artistic jobs could leave us in an area where everything is a blend of past projects and no creative liberty of the artist, due to the loss of the human artist mind, who can keep generating new ideas instead of working off of old ones. This presentation will explore the technical limitations of AI art and the growing impact it is having on artist, and why it should be taken more seriously.
