Abstract
Course syllabus for ACCT 801A Accounting for Administrative Control
Course description: This course is intended for Masters Degree candidates to provide them a foundation in managerial accounting. A sound understanding of managerial accounting is necessary for the most basic of decision making in the business, governmental, or non-profit milieus. The course should provide a broad understanding of these concepts. The output of the managerial accounting systems pervades most organizations. Budgets price schedules, performance reports, bonuses, decisions to outsource, move, expand, contract, sellout, etc. are greatly swayed by managerial accounting reports. By gaining an understanding of how these reports are prepared, better decision making will result. This class will require 4 to 8 hours of your time per week in addition to class time; please carefully evaluate your other commitments to determine whether you will be able to devote the time that is necessary to successfully complete this class.
