Abstract
Course syllabus for ADAS 505 Alcoholism and Drug Abuse: Recovery Process
Course description: The recovery process for substance abusers is examined tracing the stages from isolation through individual and group involvement. Within the context of the recovery process, the student learns the importance of human communication through enhanced awareness of self and others. Special Features: Since one of the major goals of this course is to facilitate open communication and to develop clinical skills relative to the treatment of substance abusers, experiential, interactive group exercises will be an integral component of the course.
