Abstract

Course syllabus for BLAW 320B Legal Environment of Administration

Course description: Legal Environment of Administration is an introduction to how government attempts to control some of the activities of business through statutes, court decisions, and regulations. The emphasis of the course is teaching students the structures, procedures, and forms of reasoning used in the legal-administrative process. Considerable attention is devoted to the U.S. Constitution, because it is the source of the legal powers of government, and many questions of regulation raise constitutional issues. The course also surveys major statutes and decisions in several substantive areas including employer-employee relations, consumer protection, and environmental protection.
