Abstract

Course syllabus for FIN 455 Financial Institutions and Markets

Course description: The Financial Institutions and Markets course focuses on both the financial system and its important players in the market system. We review the role of savings in an economy, we discuss the determinants of interest rates, we study the issue of raising funds in the institutional and market environments, and we learn about the effect of regulation/deregulation on the financial system and the firm. The different types of risks and how to measure them is introduced.
