Abstract
Course syllabus for MEDT 433 Clinical Chemistry II
Course description: New technologies, break throughs in fighting disease and economic forces make clinical chemistry a continually changing field. This course explores advanced topics including: predictive value theory, immunological procedures, automation, lipoproteins, endocrinology, vitamins, trace metals, nutrition, biochemical aspects of pregnancy, chromatography, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic drug monitoring, toxicology and current research. A case study approach will be used to study selected disorders along with the laboratory tests used to predict, diagnose, and treat them.
