Abstract
Course syllabus for MEDT 321/HLSC 47 Hematology I
Course description: This course is the first in a series of lectures in clinical hematology. Hematological studies (e.g., the complete blood count) are some of the most common laboratory procedures. Thus, it is essential for the medical technology student to understand the function and morphological characteristics of the various cellular and chemical elements of the blood. The major portion of this course will cover specimen collection and preservation, hematopoiesis, morphology, and medical terminology.
