Abstract
Course syllabus for MEDT 353 Clinical Laboratory Science: Phlebotomy Techniques I
Course description: Collecting a blood specimen from a patient for laboratory analysis consists of much more than inserting a needle in a vein, or drawing a drop of blood from a finger. It is the important first step in laboratory investigation that is necessary for the diagnosis and care of the patient. Students of medical technology must be able to obtain blood specimens skillfully and properly in the various hospital environments and demonstrate appropriate professional behavior while performing this task.
