Abstract
Course syllabus for MIS 550 Digital Graphics & Communication Systems
Course description: This course challenges the MIS graduate candidates to understand what goes beyond the creation of the creative digital documents and introduces them to new ways of looking at the graphic arts and publishing industry. This course prepares them to handle digital graphic communication from the time the idea is thumb-nailed to the time the piece is mass reproduced. This course enables them to communicate and discuss intelligently technical issues and make informed business decisions. It also allows them to understand the limitations and capabilities of any publishing process. As a result, students will be able to leave the academic world with a strong fundamental understanding to the electronic publishing theory and what goes beyond it. This course enables them to tie the link and fill the gap between both the creative world and the technical/production world.
