Abstract

Course syllabus for NURS 306 Gerontological Nursing: Health Promotion for the Older Adult

Course description: This course focuses on the theories, concepts and practice of nursing with aging adults. Physiological, psychosocial and cultural factors related to health and aging is explored. The nursing process with aging adults is emphasized, and community resources that assist older adults to remain in their communities are examined. The interdisciplinary nature of gerontological theory and practice is explored.
