Course syllabus for SOCW 459 Social Work & The Law

Course description: This course is an introduction to law for social workers and includes the study of leqal issues, procedures, and selected legislation relevant to the practice of social work in varied settings. Examines the study of the use of legal authority in the provision of services in the areas of income maintenance, justice, child protection, family services, divorce counseling, and other areas requiring knowledge of legal issues and processes.
