Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of quarantine on domestic violence rates. In 2016, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (2020), approximately 677,000 children were victims of maltreatment. However, the COVID pandemic brought about significant changes, as most states experienced lockdown restrictions including virtual learning. At the height of the pandemic, more than 55 million students were remained home (Education Week, 2021). The children most vulnerable to domestic violence were now in their homes all day, every day, increasing their exposure to violence.
