Abstract

The Mayans significance today is very important to the people of central America. The Maya civilization is significant for its astonishing achievements in math, writing, astronomy, architecture, and its rich cultural heritage. Their descendants continue the traditions and religions as their ancestors, speaking over 30 Mayan languages and maintaining cultural practices that have persisted for centuries. This project represents my research on their cultural achievements, and the importance they hold for their descendants.
