Abstract

Different parenting styles affect children’s emotional and behavioral development. I focused on four main parenting styles (authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful) and how each one shapes a child’s self-esteem, behavior, and emotional regulation. Through psychology and child development research, I found that parenting style plays a major role in how children grow and function. Some parenting approaches are linked to healthier outcomes, others can contribute to emotional and behavior struggles. This project highlights how everyday parenting choices can have long-term effects on children and encourages viewers to think more closely on parenting styles.
