Abstract

Course syllabus for CDIS 81 Topics in Voice Disorders

Course description:

We will review and examine in detail (1) the anatomic/physiologic and perceptual features of voice, (2) perceptual dimensions of vocal function and dysfunction, (3) etiologies and systems of classification of voice disorder, (4) mass lesion organic voice disorders and neurologic lesion organic voice disorders, (5) psychogenic/sociogenic voice disorders, (6) alaryngeal speech­ voice, and (7) both general and specific vocal evaluation and counseling considerations and approaches.
