Abstract

Course syllabus for COUN 620A Lifespan Developmental Issues

Course description: Students will analyze and conceptualize human developmental themes from the perspective of various learning and personality theorists. The counseling process, interventions, and strategies will be addressed in relation to the topical issues presented in the class. Beginning with conception and continuing through old age, themes include the following: life stage transitions, human cognitive and social development, biological/physiological influences, self-concept, relationships, parenting, individual and cultural differences, death and dying, physical and psychological factors influencing health problems.
