Abstract
Course syllabus for MEDT 322 Clinical Laboratory Science: Chemistry I
Course description: This course is the first in a series of four (4) clinical chemistry lectures. Topics include laboratory mathematics, spectral techniques, pH and buffers. Methods for the measurement of plasma carbohydrates, proteins and nonprotein nitrogen (NPN) are presented. Normal and abnormal carbohydrate metabolism, tests to diagnose and manage diabetes mellitus, kidney function tests and tests used to detect serum protein abnormalities are discussed.
