Abstract
Course syllabus for MGMT 510 Foundations of Managerial Statistics
Course description: Introduces the managerial approach to statistical analysis. This course is an accelerated graduate version of the two-semester Statistics 361-362 sequence. It moves faster and typically requires more outside work per classroom hour, but it allows you to complete the preliminary competency in statistics in one semester. Considerable emphasis is placed on learning by doing, and on using computer software (particularly Minitab and/or LOTUS 1-2-3 to facilitate computations and construct graphs and charts for take-home assignments. No previous LOTUS or Minitab experience is required, and the assignments requiring their use are optional, although highly recommended. If you do not use LOTUS or Minitab to do your assignments, you should acquire a scientific calculator with pre-programmed statistical functions.
