Abstract

Course syllabus for MGMT 511A Statistical Data Processing

Course description: Deals with the systematic collection, analysis, and statistical interpretation of large volumes of business data. Topics covered include: Principles of Measurement, Concepts of Statistical Design of Experiments, Planning and Execution of Sample Surveys, Handling Missing Data, Efficient Coding, Bivariate and Multivariate Analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis, Multiple Discriminant Analysis, Multivariate Analysis of Variance, Factor Analysis, and Cluster Analysis. Student will work with actual or simulated business problems involving large sets of data and attempt to learn to analyze and make meaningful statistical interpretation using statistical computer packages such as SAS and/or SPSS. Approximately fifty percent of course time will be devoted to computer-based exercises.
