Abstract
Course syllabus for MGMT 510 Foundations of Managerial Statistics
Course description: Introduces students to the basic concepts in statistics and probability. This is a foundation course for graduate students and covers most of the topics taught in the undergraduate courses STAT 361 and STAT 362. Topics covered include Descriptive Statistics, Theory of Probability, Discrete and Continuous Probability Distributions, Sampling Distributions and Estimation, Hypothesis Testing, and Simple and Multiple Regression. The course is designed as an application-oriented course and the textbook contains several applications of statistics and probability in both functional and general management. Students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with statistical computer packages (e.g., MINITAB, SPSS, DAYSAL- 2, etc.)
