About the Journal

The Journal of Applied Disciplines (JAD) is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary academic journal which aims to publish empirical or theoretical original works and brief reports in the social sciences, education, human services, policy, program evaluation, and related fields. This journal is interested in works with an applied or practitioner focus. The Journal is open access and has no publication or processing fees for authors.

The mission of the Journal of Applied Disciplines is to disseminate knowledge that informs practice, education, instruction, and research of multiple areas. The Journal is a refereed publication and offers two issues annually. Each issue includes a section that spotlights student research. Undergraduate and graduate students as primary authors are eligible for this publication. Student works are also peer reviewed but the criteria are slightly less stringent and more scaffolded feedback is provided for revisions. The Journal also invites replication studies that can help to establish the findings of exploratory studies. The Journal is currently hosted in the College of Education at Governors State University.
